The studio overlooking the Minch to the Outer Hebrides on the Isle of Skye is where my inspiration evolves by continually observing the changing weather fronts.
Primarily concerned with fleeting nuances of climatic change and the differing moods of the sea and sky my paintings encompass distant forms of Hebridean Islands and their extensive shorelines.
I am particularly interested in the effects of the elusive 'Skye light'; exploring the breaking up of the colour spectrum when effected by sea spray and land mists; capturing the essence of this extra-ordinary part of the world.
